Besides its red stems, the Fargesia has beautiful bright green leaves. This Fargesia grows as a compact shrub, with many stems close together and can reach a height of 3 to 4 metres. The stems grow straight up and will hang down a little at the top. Besides the fact that this species is not rampant, it is also hardy to -18 degrees Celsius!
