Stapelia leendertziae (Carrion Flower)
This Stapelia was discovered by Dutch botanist Mrs R. Leendertz and is native to the rocky shrublands of South African. They have green finger like stems that can grow up to 30cm. In late summer large flowers can bloom with purple bell-shaped flowers. In their native habitat they are pollinated by flies - meaning the blooms have developed a smell of decay flesh.
