Polaskia chichipe Cristata (Crested Cactus)
Polaskia chichipe is native to the semi-desert regions of Mexico, particularly Puebla and Oaxaca, and naturally grows as a branching columnar cactus. Its green-grey, ribbed stems feature areoles that produce small spines, giving it a distinctive textured appearance. While it can reach several metres tall in its native habitat, it remains much smaller when grown indoors. During the growing season, it may produce delicate white to pink flowers.
This specimen is the crested form of Polaskia chichipe. In this rare mutation, the stems fan out into undulating, coral-like waves, creating an irregular sculptural shape adorned with small spines along its ribs. It’s an eye-catching and highly collectible cactus for any plant lover.
