Platycerium Bifurcatum on Lava Rock
A unique way to display your plants, rooted to a lava rock! Each Platycerium bifurcatum is rooted to a unique lava rock. The porous Lava rock absorbs the water and which is then absorbed by the plants roots. This is called capillary action. Make sure that the water is always topped up to around three quarters full for this plant to thrive! If the roots grow to long into the water - make sure to give them a little trim back. The Platycerium bifurcatum is an unusual and interesting plant that grows naturally on tree trunks in Australia - commonly known as the staghorn fern due to the horn-shaped appearance of the fronds.
