Pinguicula agnata (Butterwort/ Carniverous plant)
The Pinguicula is a genus that grows worldwide, with European natives as well as species from further afield, including this species, agnata. These perennial plants grow in a rosette shape, with glands on the upper surface of the foliage. The glands of Pinguicula produce a sticky fluid which insects are attracted to, they then get stuck on the foliage and the enzymes the plant creates break down and absorbs the minerals.
