Native to central and Southern America, the 'Columbiana' are part of the Peperomia genus and larger 'Piperaceae' family. They are tropical semi-succulents so can store moisture in their fleshy leaves, perfect for beginners due to their simple and straightforward care. The Peperomia 'Columbiana' has stunning dark green leaves, almost black in appearance with silvery stripes down the centre , the abaxial (undersides) of each leaf is a dark red colour. Unsurprisingly, this plant is native to Columbia, hence its species name.
