The Mammillaria matudae is native to Mexico and close to the border with North America. It is a columnar cactus which produces offsets from its base which in time will form wide clusters. As it ages the stems tend to recline and have an almost sprawling habit. The top of each column will produce a ring of bright red/pink flowers.
