Mammillaria laui dasyacantha (fluffy cactus) - British grown
Mammillaria laui dasyacantha is easily distinguished from other mammillaria because it has many slender central soft white spines. They are native to Mexico particularly in the areas between Ciudad Victoria and Jaumave, Tamaulipas. Here it grows between the rocks or under bushes and trees. They produce a cluster or low growing globular or oblong stems, which will reach a maximum height of 6cm and 4.5cm in width. Mammillaria are characterised by many tubercles which is where the spines sprout. The M. laui dasyancantha has woolly tubercles. It will produces pink flowers in a crown like structure on the top of the cacti.
