Mammillaria 'Ernestii' (True Mammillaria) is a subspecies of Backebergiana. A classic cactus native to Mexico where it grows in arid and rocky conditions, it can grow up to 30cm in height. Tt is a columnar cacti which can cluster over time producing white-yellow spines which can reach 8mm long, these contrast with the green of the body.  Produces small funnel shaped flowers around the top of the plant that are a pinky-red.

HATES- Water-logged soil.
