Hemionitis arifolia (Heart leaf fern)
Hemionitis arifolia, often referred to the heart leaf fern due to the shape of its leave which sit upon thin black stems. This Tropical plant is native to parts of south east Asia and is an epiphyte this means that it grows directly on other tropical trees (in a similar way to orchids). This plant works well in a closed terrarium as they can tolerate high humidity and stay fairly compact.
RATING- Easy - Moderate
LOVES- A bright but indirectly lit spot away form direct sunlight, too much sunlight can burn the leaves. Water when the top inch of soil dries out. Enjoys high humidity- these guys do great in a terrarium.
HATES- Under-watering - periods of drought will cause browning and yellowing leaves.
