Goeppertia crocata 'Tassmania', has deep green foliage, its abaxial (underleaf) also displays a rich burgundy- maroon colour. The 'flowers' of this plant are particularly eye-catching, their orange 'flames' sticking up on stalks among the leaves (it's not actually a flower, the colourful part is actually a modified leaf, also known as a bract).  Native to South America, Brazil specifically, where it lives at the bottom of the canopy in tropical rainforest conditions.

Rating- Moderate

Loves- Semi-sunny is best, no direct sunlight. Water regularly through spring-autumn and reduce in winter.

Hates- Direct sunlight will scorch the leaves and fade the leaf colour and pattern!
