Fargesia Grex is a beautiful bamboo species native to China. The bamboo is very easy to maintain and has an airy, high-rising growth and is not rampant. This bamboo species is extra special as the stems, they turn blue-grey over time, provided that the plant is planted in full soil. The change in colour happens after a few years, when the plants are delivered the stems have a greenish colour. The bamboo is hardy to around -20 degrees Celsius. The Fargesia can grow up to about 3 meters, which makes the plant suitable for creating a nice, dense hedge. The Fargesia keeps its leaves all year round, giving your garden a real oriental atmosphere.

Fargesia prefers a place in the sun or semi shade and needs moderate to a lot of water. Water the plants regularly in summer and on hot days. It is recommended to plant the bamboo at a distance of 40-60 cm from each other if they are put in the open ground. However, it is also possible to plant the plants in a pot in the garden. When planted in a pot, however, the bamboo will not develop the blue colour.
